Origin: Ascona, Canton Ticino, Switzerland
Grape Variety: Merlot
Color: Intense ruby red with violet reflections, tending toward garnet with aging.
Nose: Elegant and complex, with aromas of ripe forest fruits such as blackberry and cherry, enriched by hints of tobacco, vanilla, and slight notes of sweet spices such as cinnamon and white pepper.
Palate: Full and enveloping, with velvety tannins and a robust structure. Notes of dark fruit, dark chocolate, and toasted wood emerge with balance. Long persistence and a harmonious finish that reveals the freshness typical of the Ticino terroir.
Alcohol content: 14%
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
Pairings: Perfect with red meats, roasts, game, and aged cheeses. Also excellent with mushroom and truffle-based dishes or stuffed pastas with rich sauces.
Terroir: This Merlot Riserva originates on the sunny and well-ventilated slopes of Ticino, with soils composed of granite and clay, ideal for imparting minerality and finesse. The mild climatic conditions and artisanal care of the vineyards ensure excellent grape ripening.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with a long maceration to extract the best aromas and tannins. The wine matures in oak barriques for about 18 months, acquiring complexity and a refined note of vanilla.
