Aroma: Intense and complex, with notes of ripe red fruit, cherry, and plum, enriched by spicy nuances and hints of vanilla and cocoa derived from aging in wood.
Taste: Soft and enveloping, with a balanced structure. Flavors of dried fruit, sweet spices, and a pleasant toasted note emerge on the palate, with a long and harmonious finish.
Alcohol content: 40%
Serving temperature: 18-20°C
Pairings: Ideal at the end of a meal, it pairs well with dark chocolate, dry pastries, and aged cheeses. Also excellent for meditation on its own.
Terroir: The Merlot pomace used comes from selected vineyards in Lazio, a region that offers ideal climatic and soil conditions for the cultivation of this grape variety, giving the grappa a particular aromatic finesse.
Distillation: The fresh pomace is distilled using a discontinuous method in steam copper stills, allowing for optimal aroma extraction. This is followed by a period of aging in oak barriques, which gives the distillate complexity and softness.
Description: The "Sant'Anna" Merlot Grappa represents the distilling art of the Berta family, active since 1947. This distillate reflects the passion and experience handed down through generations, offering a high-quality product appreciated both in Italy and abroad.
