Grape variety: Sangiovese
Colour: a wine with a brilliant ruby red colour with more purplish hues.
Bouquet: The nose opens with fresh, fruity notes, enriched by pleasant hints of violet.
Taste: on the palate it is soft and velvety with an extremely long finish. Overall, it is a very elegant wine with excellent ageing potential: 15 to 20 years.
Alcohol content: 13.5%
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
Pairings: due to its characteristics, this wine is ideal for pairing with red meats, particularly grilled or barbecued, and elaborate roasts.
Terroir: Brunello di Montalcino Il Greppo is born on hilly terrain at an altitude of approximately 500 metres, characterised by a predominantly marl-limestone composition. This type of soil, combined with the local microclimate, favours the cultivation of Sangiovese Grosso, giving the wine a remarkable tannic structure and unique aromatic complexity.
Vinification: Barrique for 14 months
Description: this wine represents the bridge between the past and the future of the family's wine production and maintains a great passion for Sangiovese, but brings a new interpretation of this grape variety to life. A fresh, round and dynamic wine whose name is inspired by the erratic rock of volcanic origin, which over the centuries has become the subject of numerous local legends. It is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes harvested at the end of September. After vinification, the wine rests for 14 months in untoasted wooden barrels from the Tronçais forests.
