Origin: Rocchetta Tanaro, Asti, Piedmont, Italy
Grape variety: Barbera
Color: Intense ruby red with violet reflections
Nose: Intense and fruity, with notes of ripe cherry, plum, and small red berries. There are also delicate floral nuances of violet and light spicy hints of black pepper and tobacco.
Palate: Dry, structured, and well-balanced, with good freshness provided by the acidity typical of Barbera. The tannins are soft and enveloping, with a persistent finish that recalls red fruit sensations and a light spicy note.
Alcohol content: 14.5%
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
Food pairings: Ideal with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as agnolotti del plin, bollito misto, and brasato al Barbera. It also pairs well with cured meats and aged cheeses, grilled red meats, and savory first courses, such as pasta with ragù.
Terroir: The Monte Bruna Barbera d'Asti is grown on clay-limestone soils that give the wine remarkable complexity and depth. The Rocchetta Tanaro area enjoys a climate favorable to the slow and gradual ripening of the grapes, with temperature variations that intensify the wine's aromatic profile.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo traditional fermentation in steel tanks to maintain the freshness and fruity characteristics of the variety. The wine matures for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by bottle aging that harmonizes its aromas and flavors.
Description: The Monte Bruna DOCG Barbera d'Asti by Braida represents an excellent expression of Barbera, with a fruity character and a well-balanced structure. It is a wine that celebrates the Asti territory, enriched by the passion of the Braida winery for producing wines that best express the variety and the terroir. The lively freshness and soft tannins make it versatile and pleasant when paired with various Italian cuisine dishes.
