Origin: Bussia, Monforte d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy
Grape variety: Nebbiolo
Color: Intense garnet red with orange reflections
Nose: Elegant and complex, with aromas of ripe red fruit, such as cherry and blackberry, accompanied by notes of violet, sweet spices, and tobacco. Accents of leather and a background of licorice also emerge.
Taste: Dry, full-bodied, and of great structure, with well-defined, soft tannins that make it refined and persistent. On the palate, notes of plum and black cherry are perceived, along with spicy nuances and a long, mineral finish that reflects the quality of the terroir.
Alcohol content: 14.5%
Serving temperature: 18/20°C
Pairings: Ideal with meat dishes, particularly roasts, braised meats, and game. Also perfect with aged cheeses and truffle-based dishes, which enhance its aromatic complexity and tannic structure.
Terroir: The Bussia vineyard, in the Barolo area, is characterized by calcareous-clay soil, which imparts minerality and structure to the wines. The combination of this unique soil and the microclimate of the Monforte d'Alba hills allows for the slow and optimal ripening of the Nebbiolo grapes, ensuring long-lived wines of great depth.
Vinification: The Nebbiolo grapes are hand-harvested and traditionally vinified with long maceration to extract the best from the variety. Aging takes place in large oak barrels for at least 24 months, adding complexity and roundness to the aromatic profile, followed by further bottle aging.
Description: The Barolo DOCG Bussia Rossi 2017 by Ghisolfi Attilio represents the excellence of Barolos from the Monforte d'Alba area, offering a perfect balance between structure and finesse. This wine expresses the quintessence of Nebbiolo, with a rich aromatic complexity and remarkable aging potential. An ideal choice for those seeking an elegant and persistent wine capable of evolving with grace over time.
