Nose: Complex and fascinating aromas of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and plums, accompanied by floral notes of violet. Hints of black pepper, tobacco, and balsamic nuances also emerge.
Palate: Dry, full-bodied, and enveloping on the palate, with velvety tannins and a well-balanced structure. The freshness is present yet balanced, enhancing flavors of red fruits, sweet spices, and light earthy notes. Long, persistent finish with a pleasant sensation of warmth.

Food pairings: Excellent paired with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. Also ideal with traditional Sicilian cuisine, such as eggplant caponata, roasted lamb, or rich and spicy fish couscous.
Terroir: This wine is produced from grapes grown in the Noto territory, characterized by limestone and clay soil, which gives the wine marked minerality and freshness. The Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers promotes optimal ripening of the Nero d'Avola, contributing to the wine's richness and aromatic complexity.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo traditional vinification, with fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages for approximately 12 months in French oak barriques, before being further aged in the bottle to complete the maturation process.
Awards and ratings: Wine Enthusiast awarded Santa Cecilia a score of 89/100, highlighting flavors of cherries, plums, and notes of tar and eucalyptus. The wine presents well-balanced acidity and tannic structure, with hints of blueberry and wild fennel.
According to Wine-Searcher, the wine has received an aggregated score of 90/100 from critics, who appreciated its rich profile characterized by elements of dark fruit and spices. It is considered among the best wines in the Noto region for quality and value for money.
