Raw materials: 100% malted barley (Single Malt)
Color: Bright gold with amber highlights
Nose: Intense and complex, with notes of peach, pineapple, and grapefruit, candied orange peel, vanilla, and honey, accompanied by delicate spices, incense, and the characteristic touch of Japanese Mizunara oak
Palate: Smooth and balanced, with hints of coconut, cranberry, and sweet fruit, followed by vanilla and butter. Long and lingering finish, with elegant, spicy nuances typical of maturation in Mizunara casks
Alcohol content: 43%
Serving temperature: 18/20° C, in a Glencairn or tulip glass
Pairings: Perfect for meditative tasting, it pairs with dark chocolate, dried fruit, aged cheeses, smoked fish, sashimi, and cream- and vanilla-based desserts
Terroir: The Yamazaki distillery is located in a humid, misty valley between the Tennōzan and Otokoyama mountains, near the confluence of the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu rivers. This microclimate, combined with the use of Mizunara oak, gives the whisky a unique and complex profile, with unmistakable spicy and incense-like notes
Production: Double distillation in traditional copper pot stills. Minimum 12 years of aging in American, Spanish, and Japanese Mizunara oak casks. Subsequent blending to harmonize aromas and flavors, bottled at 43% vol.
