Origin: Rocchetta Tanaro, Asti, Piedmont, Italy
Grape variety: A blend of Barbera, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot
Color: Intense ruby red with slight purplish reflections
Nose: A complex and enveloping bouquet, characterized by scents of ripe red fruit such as cherry and blackberry, accompanied by spicy notes of black pepper and herbaceous nuances. Subtle hints of dark chocolate and tobacco also emerge.
Taste: On the palate, the wine is full and structured, with well-integrated tannins and a freshness typical of Barbera that balances the softness of the other varieties. Flavors of red fruit, sweet spices, and a touch of vanilla are perceived, with a long and persistent finish that recalls notes of licorice and cocoa.
Alcohol content: 14%
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
Pairings: Perfect paired with meat dishes such as roasts and braised meats, aged cheeses, cured meats, and pasta with rich sauces. Excellent also with game and mushroom-based dishes.
Terroir: The hills of Monferrato offer limestone-clay soil with good sun exposure, ideal for the cultivation of the grape varieties used in this blend. The microclimate favors optimal ripening of the grapes, ensuring excellent aromatic concentration and a good balance between acidity and sugars.
Vinification: The harvest is carried out manually, with careful selection of the clusters. Vinification takes place separately for each variety, with fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature. After blending, the wine is aged in oak barrels for about 12 months, and then continues aging in the bottle.
