Origin: Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy

Raw materials: 40 botanicals selected from Mediterranean citrus, oriental spices, aromatic herbs, and floral-balsamic notes.

Color: Golden amber with copper highlights

Nose: Complex and elegant, with notes of citrus (sweet and bitter orange), vanilla, spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, combined with light herbaceous and balsamic nuances.

Taste: Sweet at the entry, with a balanced and harmonious bitterness. On the palate, citrus, spicy, and herbaceous hints emerge, with a persistent, citrusy, and slightly balsamic finish. Soft and velvety, it works well both on its own and as an ingredient in cocktails.

Alcohol content: 23%

Serving temperature: 6-10 °C, served neat or on the rocks; also ideal for mixing.

Pairings: Perfect as an after-dinner digestive. Excellent with dark chocolate desserts, dry pastries, and spiced biscuits. Versatile in classic and modern cocktails, paired with gin, bitters, or vermouth.

Terroir: Not linked to vineyards, but to the Bolognese herbal tradition. The botanicals come from various parts of the world, including Mediterranean citrus, oriental spices, and alpine herbs, which provide a unique aromatic profile.

Production: The botanicals undergo maceration, boiling, and distillation. The final blend is created from the combination of essences, enriched by a secret component known as "Il Premio". The recipe, created by Stanislao Cobianchi in 1885, has remained unchanged to this day.

Description: Amaro Montenegro has been an Italian icon since 1885, a symbol of the balance between sweetness and bitterness. Born in Bologna, it combines 40 botanicals from around the world into a refined, complex, yet accessible blend. Beloved as a digestive, it is also a staple in international mixology, thanks to its versatility and unique personality.
