Description: Carato is Angelo Delea’s flagship wine, crafted with meticulous care from the best selections of Merlot grapes from vines over 40 years old. These grapes, carefully cultivated in vineyards located on the hills of Locarno, benefit from ideal climatic conditions. During the day, the vines enjoy excellent sun exposure, which promotes full ripening of the fruit, while the cool night breeze helps to preserve acidity and balance the flavors, giving the grapes a unique complexity. Once harvested, the Merlot grapes are vinified with great attention, following a process that maximizes the characteristics of the terroir. The Carato wine is then aged for about two years in French oak barriques, called "carati" in Italian, which not only give this fine wine its name, but also contribute significantly to developing its structure and aromatic complexity. This long aging process allows Carato to evolve into a wine of great structure, capable of reflecting the character of the territory from which it comes in an extraordinary way.
