Origin: Genestrerio, Mendrisiotto, Ticino, Switzerland.
Grape variety: 100% Merlot.
Color: Ruby red of good intensity with violet reflections.
Nose: Varietal, with a light hint of ivy typical of pure Merlot; fine and fruity.
Palate: Slightly spicy, velvety and well-structured, well-balanced. It presents a lively freshness that accompanies elegant tannins and a long, persistent finish.
Serving temperature: 16-18°C.
Pairings: Ideal with grilled red meats, roasts, game, aged cheeses, and rich mushroom-based first courses. Also perfect with typical Ticino dishes such as braised meats and polenta.
Terroir: The Merlot vineyards are grown on limestone-clay soils, typical of the Mendrisiotto region, benefiting from a mild microclimate thanks to the proximity of the lakes and mountains, which favor optimal grape ripening.
Vinification: After manual harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in steel with frequent pump-overs to extract color and structure. Aging takes place in oak barrels for at least 12 months, bestowing elegance and complexity.
