Origin: Japan, Kyoto
Raw materials: Neutral rice spirit and pure water from the renowned Fushimi area.
Color: Clear, brilliant, and crystalline.
Aroma: A sweet, deep, and delicate bouquet on the nose. The intense aromas of noble Japanese green teas emerge clearly, along with fresh vegetal notes and a subtle citric presence integrated with balsamic juniper.
Taste: On the palate, it opens with a gentle sweetness reminiscent of white chocolate, expanding slowly and giving way to a firm juniper character. The texture is extraordinarily silky and elegant. The finish is long, clean, and distinctly marked by aromatic hints of toasted green tea.
Alcohol content: 45.1% vol.
Serving temperature: Perfect at room temperature to capture its aromatic breadth, or chilled in cocktails.
Pairings: Specially created for high-end cocktails oriented toward herbaceous nuances and umami. It is extraordinary in a MarTEAni (Martini with the addition of cold-infused green tea and garnished with an olive marinated in soy sauce) or in a Mizuwari (simply mixed with pure cold water). Gastronomically, it is a perfect match for Kaiseki cuisine, sushi, amberjack or scallop nigiri, seaweed-based dishes, vegetable tempura, and Oriental spoon desserts that are not overly sweet.
Terroir / Botanicals: Handcrafted in Kyoto in collaboration with the master producer and tea selector Hori-Shichimeien. The botanical heart of the distillate is composed of super-premium green teas from the renowned Uji region, specifically the Tencha and Gyokuro varieties, grown in the shade to maximize the contribution of umami and natural sweetness. These are calibrated with a secret botanical recipe that includes Juniper, Orris Root, and Akamatsu (Japanese red pine).
Distillation: The precious Uji tea varieties are harvested and distilled separately using dedicated techniques to keep their heat-sensitive aromas intact. Subsequently, the individual distillates are blended with the rice spirit and harmonized with Fushimi groundwater, ensuring perfect molecular integration between the innate sugar component of the tea and the gin base.
Description: KI NO TEA represents the pinnacle of Japanese distillation elegance, a sensory bridge between the art of Western gin and the ancient tea ceremony of Kyoto. Born from the exclusive partnership with the historic tea house Hori-Shichimeien, this Kyoto Dry Gin elevates the Tencha and Gyokuro varieties to true structural pillars of the spirit. The rice spirit acts as an immaculate canvas, allowing the natural sweetness and intense aromatic depth of the green tea to express themselves without harshness. On the palate, it is never aggressive: the velvety softness and almost creamy notes reminiscent of white chocolate create a three-dimensional sip that evolves continuously to a clean, toasted finish of rare persistence. An elite product dedicated to those seeking the quintessence of Asian balance and artistry.
