Origin: Aberfeldy Distillery, Perthshire, Scottish Highlands.
Raw materials: Selected malted barley and local spring water.
Colour: Amber gold with warm reflections.
Nose: Rich aromas of acacia honey, sweet caramel, toasted almond, and light dried fruit.
Taste: Elegant structure, with enveloping honey sweetness, notes of vanilla, light spices, and a slightly smoky finish.
Alcohol content: 40% vol
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C
Terroir: Pure water and fresh Highland air provide consistency and aromatic purity.
Distillation: Double copper pot still distillation, prolonged maturation in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks with a final refinement.
Pairings: Excellent neat as a digestif or for meditation. Pairs well with aged cheeses, fruit desserts, and dark chocolate. Also excellent with a slice of spiced cake or accompanied by dried fruit.
Description: The Aberfeldy 16 Years Old is an enveloping single malt, with a fascinating bouquet of honey, ripe fruit, and spices, finished with dark chocolate and fruitcake notes. Aged for 16 years, including 6 months in Oloroso sherry casks, it offers a creamy texture, a smooth finish, and a refined complexity that make it an ideal companion for meditative tasting.
