Origin: Monti Garbi, Mezzane di Sotto, Verona, Veneto, Italy

Grape Variety: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta

Color: Deep ruby red with intense garnet highlights

Nose: Elegant and complex, featuring intense aromas of ripe red fruit, such as cherry, plum, and blackberry, accompanied by notes of dark chocolate, sweet spices, vanilla, and a touch of licorice. Balsamic and tobacco hints also emerge, lending a distinctive aromatic depth.

Palate: Structured and harmonious, with velvety tannins and a full body that envelops the palate. The taste is intense and persistent, dominated by notes of red fruit jam, cocoa, sweet spices, and nuances of coffee. The freshness balances the wine's power, making it balanced and particularly pleasant, with a long, enveloping finish.

Alcohol content: 16%

Serving temperature: 18/20° C

Pairings: Ideal with rich and structured dishes such as braised meats, roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses. Also perfect for accompanying dishes based on porcini mushrooms, truffles, and flavorful risottos. It also lends itself well as a meditation wine.

Terroir: The grapes for the Amarone Selezione Castagnedi come from vineyards located on hills of limestone and clay origin, at an altitude of approximately 300 meters above sea level. The climatic conditions, with temperature fluctuations between day and night, favor the aromatic concentration of the grapes. The traditional processing, including the drying of the grapes, contributes to a unique complexity and richness in the wine.

Vinification: After hand-harvesting, the grapes are dried for about three months in fruit drying rooms to concentrate sugars and aromas. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, and the wine matures for 24 months in French oak barrels, followed by bottle aging to perfect its aromatic and structural balance.

Description: The 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella Selezione Castagnedi by Tenuta Sant’Antonio is a wine that fully expresses the rich and seductive character of Valpolicella. Carefully crafted by the Castagnedi brothers, this Amarone enhances the fruit, structure, and complexity typical of this denomination, offering a satisfying and refined tasting experience. The selection of the grapes and the traditional drying process make this wine an icon of modern Amarone, perfect for lovers of intense and structured wines, with excellent aging potential.
