Color: Intense ruby red with garnet highlights
Nose: Aromas of dark wild berries, cherry jam, dried plums, with spicy notes of tobacco, toasted bread, and hints of aromatic herbs
Palate: Balanced structure with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a long finish characterized by notes of dark fruit and spices
Serving temperature: 18°C
Food pairings: Ideal with intensely flavored dishes such as roasts, game, or enjoyed on its own by the fireplace
Terroir: The Merlot grapes come from the oldest and warmest vineyards of Tenuta San Giorgio, with vines reaching 30 years of age. The Cabernet Franc grows in Vernate, in a well-ventilated vineyard. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are added only in vintages when quality allows, thus ensuring a high level of quality.
Vinification: Vinification in large wooden vats, followed by 18 months of aging in barriques.
