Origin: Grinzane Cavour, Langhe, Piedmont, Italy
Grape Variety: Nebbiolo
Color: Intense garnet red with ruby highlights, typical of the finest Barolos.
Bouquet: Complex and deep, with notes of ripe red fruit such as cherry and raspberry, which blend with hints of rose petals, tobacco, leather, and delicate nuances of sweet spices and licorice.
Taste: Elegant and structured, with dense, silky tannins, well-balanced by vibrant freshness and subtle minerality. On the palate, notes of ripe red fruit are perceived, along with a touch of vanilla and a long, slightly balsamic finish that expresses the authentic character of the Langhe terroir.
Alcohol Content: 14.5%
Serving Temperature: 16-18° C
Pairings: Ideal with red meat dishes, roasts, braised meats, game, and aged cheeses. Also perfect with dishes rich in white truffle, characteristic of Piedmontese cuisine, and structured first courses such as porcini mushroom risotto or lasagna with meat sauce.
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the Langhe hills, on calcareous and clay soils that give the wine a unique minerality and a tannic structure ideal for aging. The area's cool, breezy climate, combined with its particular sun exposure, allows for a slow and complete ripening of the Nebbiolo.
Vinification: The harvest is carried out by hand, and the grapes undergo traditional fermentation in contact with the skins for a long period to best extract the aromatic and structural characteristics of the Nebbiolo. Aging takes place in large oak barrels for 24 months, followed by further bottle aging, which rounds out the tannins and enriches the aromatic bouquet.
