Origin: Reims, Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, Côte des Blancs, Champagne, France.
Grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay.
Color: Brilliant pink with salmon reflections; very fine and continuous perlage.
Nose: Elegant and complex, with notes of small red fruits, citrus, flower petals, dried fruits, and candied fruits.
Palate: Rich, intense, and powerful, soft and fleshy, with a chalky and saline minerality combined with an energetic freshness; long persistence of citrus and dried fruits.
Serving temperature: 11°C
Pairings: Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs perfectly with fish, shellfish, and crustacean-based dishes, such as lobster, spiny lobster, and oysters.
Terroir: The grapes come from old Pinot Noir vines located in the best territories of the Grand Cru of Aÿ, farmed biodynamically. The limestone soil imparts an exquisite minerality, while the 2014 vintage climate, characterized by a dry spring, a cool summer, and a warm and dry September, contributed to the perfect ripening of the grapes.
Vinification: Louis Roederer has developed a unique technique called "infusion," which allows for the extraction of the juicy and ripe part of the Pinot Noir while preserving great freshness. 17% of the wines are vinified in oak barrels, without malolactic fermentation. The wine matures on the lees for at least 72 months, followed by bottle aging after disgorgement.
Description: The Cristal Rosé 2014 is a masterpiece of richness, power, and balance. On the nose, it offers a refined bouquet with floral, citrus, and small wild berry aromas, enriched by notes of pastry and dried fruits. On the palate, the gustatory harmony is exemplary, with a velvety texture and a chalky minerality that blend into a lively freshness, culminating in a long and persistent finish.
