Grape Variety: Merlot
Colour: Intense red with ruby reflections
Bouquet: Intense, fine and fruity, with hints of fresh red fruit and clearly recognizable varietal aromas
Taste: Harmonious and of good finesse, with fruity characteristics. On the palate, the typical varietal traits of Merlot are found with good persistence.
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C
Pairings: Ideal with white meats, pasta dishes, semi-hard cheeses, slow-cooked meats and risottos. Also excellent as an aperitif.
Terroir: The grapes come from the picturesque locality of Cagiallo, in the municipality of Capriasca, situated in the heart of the hilly Lugano region, at the entrance to the Val Colla.
Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation and maceration for about two weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in second and third-fill 225-litre barriques, 500-litre oak barrels, and stainless steel tanks.
