Color: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections
Nose: Rich and enveloping, with a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit, black cherry, blackberry, and plum, accompanied by spicy notes of black pepper, vanilla, and slight balsamic and toasted nuances.
Taste: On the palate, it is full-bodied, with soft and well-integrated tannins that give the wine a refined structure. Persistent and harmonious, with an aftertaste of dark fruits, sweet spices, and a pleasant note of cocoa and tobacco on the finish.
Alcohol Content: 14.5%
Serving Temperature: 16-18°C
Pairings: Ideal with grilled red meat dishes, roasts, game, and aged cheeses. Also perfect paired with savory first courses such as wild boar ragù or pasta dressed with porcini mushroom-based sauces.
Terroir: The Donna Lisa Riserva comes from the clayey and calcareous soils of Salice Salentino, in an area characterized by a hot and dry climate with excellent sun exposure that favors full grape maturation. The combination of soil and climate gives the wine a complex structure and an intense character, accentuated by the aging process.
Vinification: After a manual harvest, the grapes undergo long maceration at a controlled temperature to maximize the extraction of aromas and color. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by aging in French oak barrels for at least 18 months, which imparts elegance and complexity to the aromatic bouquet.
