Origin: Barberino Tavarnelle, Florence, Tuscany, Italy
Grape Varieties: Sangiovese (90%), Canaiolo and Colorino (10%)
Color: Deep ruby red with garnet highlights
Nose: Intense and complex, with elegant notes of ripe cherry and blackberry, accompanied by nuances of violet and light sensations of sweet spices such as vanilla, licorice, and tobacco, with an earthy and balsamic undertone.
Palate: Structured and enveloping, with vigorous yet well-integrated tannins and good acidity that lends freshness to every sip. Flavors of ripe red fruits, a slight hint of plum, and a persistent minerality that reflects the unique terroir of the area emerge on the palate. Long and harmonious finish, with returns of spices and tobacco.
Alcohol content: 14.5%
Serving temperature: 18-20°C
Pairings: Perfect for accompanying substantial meat dishes such as roasts, Florentine steak, wild boar stew, and braised meats. It also pairs well with aged cheeses, such as Tuscan pecorino, and with dishes rich in truffles and porcini mushrooms.
Terroir: The Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino vines grow on soils rich in galestro and alberese limestone, typical of the Chianti Classico region, at an altitude of approximately 300-310 meters. This terroir gives the wine a unique minerality and excellent aging potential, with ideal climatic conditions characterized by hot summers and cool nights that ensure optimal grape ripening.
Vinification: After manual selection, the grapes are fermented with a long maceration on the skins to best extract aromas and structure. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 18-20 months, followed by further refinement in the bottle for perfect balance and aromatic complexity.
