Origin: Montalto Uffugo, Province of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy
Raw materials: Bergamot from Roccella Ionica, PGI lemons from Rocca Imperiale, sweet and bitter oranges, rosemary, oregano, eucalyptus, gentian, wormwood, vanilla.
Color: Dark amber with warm highlights, typical of amari made with botanicals, spices, and citrus peels.
Nose: Intense and Mediterranean, with notes of citrus (bergamot, bitter and sweet orange, PGI lemon from Rocca Imperiale), aromatic herbs (rosemary, oregano, eucalyptus), balsamic nuances, and a hint of vanilla.
Taste: A dry but balanced amaro, with citrus freshness and spicy softness. Persistent on the palate, with a herbaceous and slightly bitter finish. Elegant and complex, it perfectly balances sweetness and bitterness.
Alcohol content: 30% Vol.
Serving temperature: 7-10 °C (chilled or with ice), also excellent at room temperature.
Pairings: Ideal as an after-dinner digestive, perfect with dark chocolate and citrus-based desserts. In mixology, it enhances classic cocktails like the Negroni and Americano, replacing traditional bitters.
Terroir: Citrus fruits and botanicals typical of Calabria: bergamot from Roccella Ionica, PGI lemons from Rocca Imperiale, local oranges, and hand-picked aromatic herbs. The Mediterranean environment provides freshness and aromatic intensity.
Production: Selected botanicals and citrus fruits harvested by hand. Each ingredient is infused separately with specific hydro-alcoholic macerations. Production lasts about 11 months, followed by 40 days of bottle rest. No artificial colors or flavors; filtered using linen cloths.
