Origin: Lagavulin Distillery, Islay, Scotland – One of the island's most celebrated distilleries, founded in 1816.
Raw materials: Malted barley
Color: Intense gold – Amber highlights that reveal its long maturation.
Nose: Smoky peat and iodine – With marine notes, seaweed, ash, dried fruit, and wood.
Palate: Dry, smoky, and complex – A balance between peat, sea salt, spices, and malt and sherry sweetness.
Alcohol content: 43% ABV – A balanced strength for an elegant tasting experience.
Serving temperature: Room temperature – Recommended in a Glencairn glass, with a few drops of water to open up the aromas.
Pairings: Aged cheeses, oysters, smoked salmon – Also excellent as a contemplative whisky.
Terroir: Islay, Scotland – Marine influence and salty air, which enrich the distillate with iodized notes.
Production: Slow distillation and 16 years of aging – Ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks for aromatic complexity.
