Origin: Sicily, Italy (Mille e Una Notte DOC)
Grape Varieties: Nero d’Avola, Petit Verdot, Syrah, and other native and international varieties
Color: Deep ruby red with intense garnet hues
Nose: Complex and intriguing, with notes of ripe red fruit such as black cherry and plum, enriched by accents of sweet spices, vanilla, cocoa, and tobacco, with delicate balsamic and floral nuances that contribute to a refined aromatic elegance.
Palate: Structured and enveloping, with silky, well-integrated tannins. On the palate, it offers long aromatic persistence, characterized by notes of black fruit, spices, and a hint of minerality. The body is robust yet balanced by a lively freshness that gives the wine excellent drinkability and aging potential.
Alcohol Content: 14.5%
Serving Temperature: 18/20°C
Pairings: Perfect with red meat roasts, braised meats, game, and aged cheeses. It pairs beautifully with Mediterranean dishes featuring aromatic herbs, roasted vegetables, and elaborate preparations such as meat couscous or dishes with oriental spices.
Terroir: The Sicilian soil, predominantly clayey and calcareous, imparts a unique minerality to Mille e Una Notte. The grapes are grown in vineyards exposed to the intense Sicilian sun, which, combined with sea breezes, allows for optimal ripening for each variety. Significant temperature fluctuations between day and night allow for a perfect synthesis of sugars and acids, preserving the wine's aromatics and freshness.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo prolonged maceration to ensure maximum extraction of aromas and color. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, followed by aging in oak barriques for approximately 13–14 months, with further bottle aging for at least 24 months, which imparts complexity and depth to the bouquet.
