Origin: Douro Valley, Portugal – Casa Dom Duarte, producer of traditional Port wine with grapes selected from terraced vineyards along the Douro River.
Grape variety: Indigenous Portuguese grapes typical of Port (Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Barroca).
Color: Intense ruby red with violet reflections.
Aroma: Rich and fruity, with notes of ripe plum, black cherry, wild berries, and slight spicy nuances.
Taste: Sweet and enveloping, with a full and balanced body. Aromas of ripe red fruit and jam, with a soft and persistent finish.
Alcohol content: 19% vol.
Serving temperature: 14–16 °C.
Pairings: Ideal with chocolate desserts, red fruit tarts, and blue cheeses. Also perfect as a meditation wine after a meal.
Terroir: Terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, characterized by schist soils and a warm climate with significant temperature fluctuations that promote aromatic concentration.
Vinification: The grapes are fermented and subsequently fortified with wine spirits, halting fermentation and preserving natural sugars. This is followed by a period of aging in oak barrels.
