Origin: Locality: Persico, Monteggio, Canton Ticino, Switzerland — vineyard with full southern exposure, at an altitude of 300–400 m a.s.l. The soil is characterized by friable gneiss and a good clay component, which gives the wine significant structure and aromatic complexity.
Grape Variety: 100% Merlot

Nose: The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe fruit: plum, blackberries, and forest berries, with floral and underbrush nuances. Some versions also note spicy hints and a light touch of wood.
Palate: On the palate, Ronco di Persico reveals good structure: the ripe fruit returns with notes of plum, blackberries, and forest berries, accompanied by appreciable complexity and present but well-integrated tannins. The finish is harmonious, with a pleasant freshness and notes of underbrush, making the wine balanced.

Pairings: Thanks to its fruity and tannic profile, it pairs well with meat dishes (veal, roasts), game, polenta with meat sauce or mushrooms, semi-aged or aged cheeses, and dishes of medium intensity. It is also suitable for dishes with a rustic and savory character. Terroir: Vineyards situated on south-facing slopes at an altitude of 300-450 meters a.s.l., with sandy, humus-rich, and clayey soils that are well-drained and slightly acidic.
Vinification: After a maceration period of about 4 days, fermentation begins; skin contact lasts for about 30 days. Subsequently, the wine is pressed and aged in barriques for about a year, during which time malolactic fermentation also takes place.
