Origin: Morbio Superiore and Ligornetto, Mendrisiotto, Ticino, Switzerland. The vineyards are located on hilly terrain at an altitude between 400 and 450 meters above sea level.
Grape varieties: 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot.
Color: Intense ruby red.
Nose: Rich and enveloping, with spicy aromas of pepper, licorice, and rhubarb, accompanied by hints of blackberries and ripe cherries.
Taste: On the palate, it is distinguished by fine and elegant tannins, a lively acidity that provides freshness, and a persistent finish with notes of licorice and spice.
Alcohol content: 13.5%.
Serving temperature: 16-18°C.
Pairings: Perfect with grilled red meats, roasts, braised dishes, aged cheeses, and mushroom-based dishes.
Terroir: Clay soils with the presence of limestone, which give the wine freshness and complexity.
Vinification: Maceration on the skins for at least 15 days in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. This is followed by 5 months of aging in truncated cone-shaped wooden vats and a further 6 months in second and third-fill barriques.
Description: Rubino TI DOC 2021 is a wine that expresses the character of the Ticino territory and the extraordinary elegance of the vintage. Freshness, finesse, and balance make it an excellent choice for a wide range of dishes.
