Bouquet: Intense and complex, with notes of ripe forest fruits, blackberry, and cherry, enriched by spicy hints of black pepper, licorice, and light nuances of tobacco and vanilla.
Taste: Dry, with great structure and harmony, featuring velvety, well-integrated tannins. On the palate, it reveals a lively freshness accompanied by a minerality that reflects its alpine terroir, with persistent notes of dark fruit and a touch of spice on a long, enveloping finish.
Alcohol Content: 13.5%
Serving Temperature: 16-18°C
Pairings: Pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, game, roasts, and mushroom-based dishes. It is also excellent with aged cheeses and traditional Aosta Valley cured meats, enhancing their aromatic characteristics and structure.
Terroir: The Les Crêtes vineyards are located at high altitude on the slopes of the Aosta Valley, at approximately 600-700 meters above sea level, in an area characterized by rocky, mineral-rich soils. The alpine climate, with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, fosters slow grape ripening, contributing to the wine's aromatic finesse and freshness.
Vinification: After manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel to preserve the varietal characteristics of the Syrah. This is followed by approximately 12 months of aging in French oak barriques, which imparts complexity and softness to the wine without overpowering the fruity and spicy notes typical of the variety.
