Origin: Castelnuovo Berardenga, Siena, Tuscany, Italy
Grape Varieties: Trebbiano, Malvasia, and a small percentage of Sangiovese
Color: Intense golden yellow with amber reflections
Nose: Rich and enveloping, with hints of dried fruits such as figs and dates, honey, caramel, and delicate notes of candied citrus and sweet spices, accompanied by a light smoky note derived from aging.
Palate: Sweet and velvety, with an intense structure well-balanced between acidity and sugars. On the palate, notes of almond, candied orange peel, and caramel accents are perceived, with a long and enveloping persistence that leaves the palate pleasantly spiced.
Alcohol content: 14%
Serving temperature: 12-14°C
Pairings: Perfect with traditional Tuscan desserts such as cantucci and dried fruit tarts, aged and blue cheeses, foie gras, or even as a meditation wine to best appreciate its complexity.
Terroir: Fèlsina's vineyards are located in the limestone and clay soils typical of the Chianti Classico region, which favor the ripening of the grapes for a Vin Santo of great character. Traditional vinification in small wooden casks contributes to enhancing the wine's oxidative and complex flavors.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and dried naturally for several months. Vinification takes place in small wooden casks where the must ferments slowly and matures for a prolonged period, typically from 7 to 10 years, enriching the wine with oxidative nuances and complexity.
Description: The 2015 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico from Fèlsina is a unique and refined expression of this traditional Tuscan sweet wine. With its complex bouquet and velvety flavor, it represents the essence of the Sienese territory, combining historical production methods with impeccable quality. A wine that stands out for its elegance and persistence, ideal for accompanying moments of meditation or for enhancing desserts and cheeses.
