Origin: Corteglia (Castel San Pietro), Mendrisiotto, Canton Ticino, Switzerland
Grape variety: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Chasselas and Chardonnay (approximately 45% Sauvignon, 25% Sémillon, 15% Chasselas, 15% Chardonnay; proportions vary with the vintage)
Color: Straw yellow
Nose: Aromatic bouquet with scents of white peach, citrus and exotic fruit, rounded off by a few mineral notes. The 2025 vintage is very fruity on the nose
Taste: Sauvignon gives it great freshness, while Sémillon and Chardonnay contribute an excellent structure. The 2025 shows good balance and lovely freshness on the palate
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Serving temperature: 10-12°C
Pairings: Ideal as an aperitif with appetizers and with fish dishes, from lake or sea
Terroir: The grapes come from the vineyards of Corteglia, a hamlet of Castel San Pietro in the Mendrisiotto, on moderately clayey, low-limestone soils that particularly suit the Bordeaux varieties Sauvignon and Sémillon. The vines are farmed by the family following integrated production guidelines, trained in Guyot Poussard, single Guyot and spur-pruned cordon
Vinification: The different varieties are harvested and pressed together. Vinification is traditional, with malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where the wine matures until bottling in the spring after the harvest
2025 vintage: A cool, rainy start to the season, followed by a sunny, mild June. Frequent rain in July and August demanded close attention in the vineyard to keep the grapes healthy; despite short harvest windows, the winery rates the crop as excellent
Description: "Corteglia" takes its name from the hamlet of Castel San Pietro where the vines grow, and it is the Ortelli family's signature white: Mauro Ortelli first made it in 1989, a few years after founding the winery, which is now run by his sons Lucio, an oenologist, and Enzo, an agronomist. A blend of Bordeaux and traditional white varieties, vinified and aged exclusively in stainless steel, it is a fresh, aromatic and versatile Ticino white produced in limited quantities. Best enjoyed young, within about 3 years of the harvest, to appreciate its freshness and aromas

We do everything possible to process orders quickly and unfortunately cannot make updates once an order has been placed. Such changes include removing or adding products and/or changing the delivery address. If an error was made with the order details, it is faster to create a new order with the correct details and then contact our Customer Service team.
